Philippine National Bank clarifies report on board appointment

Philippine National Bank said it has not appointed former Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Amando Tetangco Jr. to its board.

The bank clarified an Aug. 31 Philippine Daily Inquirer report that said Philippine National Bank was keen to enlist Tetangco to its board.

It said its board has not approved any enlisting, election or appointment of Tetanco.

Tetangco stepped down as central bank governor in July 2017 after serving in the role since 2005.
