Scotiabank CFO to take leave of absence

Sean McGuckin, group head and CFO of Bank of Nova Scotia, will take a leave of absence to attend to an illness in his family.

Effective immediately, the board of the Toronto-based bank appointed Rajagopal Viswanathan as acting CFO. Viswanathan is senior vice president and chief accountant at the bank.

Scotiabank also disclosed other changes in its finance team.

Charles Emond, managing director and co-head of global investment banking, was promoted to executive vice president for finance. In addition, Chadwick Westlake, who is currently senior vice president for structural cost transformation and lean, will become senior vice president for structural cost management and Canadian banking finance.
