The U.K.'s governing Conservative Party held a lead of 5 percentage points over the opposition Labour Party in an Ipsos MORI poll published June 2 ahead of the June 8 election, although the gap was 8 percentage points in another poll taken the same day.
The Conservatives had 45% support, according to Ipsos MORI, ahead of Labour's 40% and the Liberal Democrats' 7%. The United Kingdom Independence Party and the Greens trailed with 2% each.
