Paraguay's GDP grew 6.6% in the first quarter of 2017 year over year according to data published by Banco Central del Paraguay on June 6.
The economy grew 3.4% compared with the fourth quarter of 2016. The figures were in line with the bank's expectation for 4.2% growth in full year 2017, Reuters reported.
According to the central bank data, growth in the period was propelled by commerce, services, industrial manufacturing and construction.
The regulator also described the growth figures in agriculture as "favorable" and said they were mainly due to a record soybean harvest.
