Bangkok Dusit Medical Services PCL said its second-quarter 2019 profit fell 8.7% while its revenue rose 6.5% year over year.
The Thai hospital operator's profit attributable to owners of the company for the three-month period amounted to 1.87 billion Thai baht, down from 2.04 billion baht a year earlier.
The company's basic EPS during the three-month period was 12 satang, down from 13 satang in the year-ago period.
Total revenue for the quarter was 19.69 billion baht, up year over year from 18.49 billion baht.
For the six-month period ended June 30, profit attributable to owners of the company was 10.30 billion baht, up from 4.96 billion baht a year ago.
Basic EPS for the half was 66 satang.
Total revenue for the period was 48.10 billion baht, up from 38.30 billion baht a year earlier.
Bangkok Dusit owns and manages hospital groups, including Bangkok Hospital, Samitivej Hospital, BNH Hospital, Phyathai Hospital, Paolo Memorial Hospital and Royal Hospital.
As of Aug. 14, US$1 was equivalent to 30.84 Thai baht.
