White House confirmed Oct. 7 that a Chinese delegation led by Vice Premier Liu He will arrive in the U.S. to resume high-level, face-to-face trade negotiations beginning Oct. 10, as planned.
The trade talks, which follow the deputy-level meeting held in September, will cover forced technology transfer, intellectual property rights, services, non-tariff barriers, agriculture and enforcement.
Ahead of the latest round of negotiations, Bloomberg News report that Beijing is looking to narrow the scope of the talks by excluding potential industrial policy reforms and government subsidies from the discussions, two key issues Washington wants to be addressed.
