Gem Diamonds sells 910-carat diamond for US$40M

Gem Diamonds Ltd. sold its exceptional-quality, 910-carat, D-color, Type IIa diamond for US$40 million on tender in Antwerp, Belgium, on March 12.

The diamond, recovered in January from the Letseng mine in Lesotho, was named The Lesotho Legend.

Recently, the company recovered a 152-carat, top white color, Type IIa diamond from the Letseng mine, the sixth diamond of over 100 carats recovered from the mine this year.
