S&P Global Market Intelligence rounds up notable branch openings and closings over the past week. This wrap excludes certain moves by banks with more than $5 billion in assets and certain credit unions.

Mid-Atlantic

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York approved Chemung Canal Trust Co.'s application to open a branch at 2 Rush St. in Schenectady, N.Y., according to a Federal Reserve release.

The Elmira, N.Y.-based bank is a subsidiary of Chemung Financial Corp.

Easton, Md.-based Shore United Bank, a unit of Shore Bancshares Inc., obtained the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond's approval to open a branch at 25306 Lankford Highway in Onley, Va.

New York City-based Municipal Credit Union is seeking the New York Department of Financial Services' permission to open a station at 1756 Forest Ave., in New York City, according to the state regulator's weekly banking bulletin.

Brooklyn, N.Y.-based Dime Community Bank, a subsidiary of Dime Community Bancshares Inc., is seeking state regulatory approval to open a branch at One Grand Central Place, 60 East 42nd St., Suite 1563, in Manhattan, New York City.

The New York banking regulator approved Kingston, N.Y.-based Catskill Hudson Bank's application to open a branch at 851 New Loudon Road in Colonie, N.Y.

The bank is a unit of Catskill Hudson Bancorp Inc.

Middletown, N.Y.-based Orange County Bancorp Inc., the parent company of Orange Bank & Trust Co., opened full-service branches in Mount Pleasant and in Mamaroneck, N.Y., and is set to open a full-service branch in Mount Vernon, N.Y., according to the company's 2016 annual report.

The company is exploring additional locations in Westchester County and is planning to open a second branch in Rockland, N.Y., this 2017.

Albany, N.Y.-based Capital Communications Federal Credit Union seeks to build a branch at 899 Western Ave. in Albany, near the Harriman State Office Campus, the Albany Business Review reported.

Fleetwood, Pa.-based Fleetwood Bank, a subsidiary of Fleetwood Bank Corp., filed an application with the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities for a branch at 216 East Philadelphia Ave. in Boyertown, Pa., according to the state banking regulator's summary of activities.

Shippensburg, Pa.-based Orrstown Bank, a unit of Orrstown Financial Services Inc., closed its branch at 1000 Bryn Mawr Road in Carlisle, Pa., according to the state banking regulator's summary of activities.

Glen Head, N.Y.-based First National Bank of Long Island, a unit of First of Long Island Corp., seeks to obtain the OCC's approval to open a branch at 23-25 31st St. in Astoria, N.Y., according to the OCC's website.

Midwest

Galesburg, Ill.-based Farmers & Mechanics Bank, a subsidiary of Central Bancshares Inc., filed an application with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago for a branch at the corner of Knox Square Drive and Veterans Drive, in Galesburg.

Wausau, Wis.-based Marathon Savings Bank is planning to enter the Milwaukee-area market by opening a location in Mequon, Wis., the Milwaukee Business Journal reported.

Junction City, Kan.-based Central National Bank, a unit of Central of Kansas Inc., is seeking the OCC's approval to open a branch at 101 S. Mill in Glen Elder, Kan.

Southeast

South Hill, Va.-based Citizens Community Bank, a unit of CCB Bankshares Inc., filed an application with the Richmond Fed for a branch at 701 Virginia Ave. in Clarksville, Va.

Tallahassee, Fla.-based First Commerce Credit Union is opening a branch at 3330 Inner Perimeter Road in Valdosta, Ga., The Valdosta Daily Times reported.

Little Rock, Ark.-based One Bank & Trust NA filed an application with the OCC for a branch at 8000 Cantrell Road in Little Rock.

The Arkansas State Bank Department approved Batesville, Ark.-based First Community Bank's application to open a branch at 11 Prospect Court in Cabot, Ark., according to the state regulator's website.

The bank is a subsidiary of First Community Bancshares Inc.

Southwest

The Woodlands, Texas-based Woodforest National Bank opened a commercial lending office at 200 Las Olas Blvd. in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Fla., the (South Florida) Sun Sentinel reported.

The Woodforest Financial Group Inc. subsidiary is operating in a temporary space in the building and will occupy the new office in July, according to the report.

Houston-based Members Choice Credit Union is constructing a four-story administration building, which will include a full-service branch, near Interstate-10 and Barker Cypress in Houston, according to the credit union's 2016 annual report.

Construction of the building is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter.

City National Bank and Trust Co. of Lawton Oklahoma, a unit of JRMB II Inc., received the OCC's approval to open a branch at 501 E. Pawnee St. in Wichita, Kan.

Sonora, Texas-based First National Bank of Sonora, a unit of First Sonora Bancshares Inc., withdrew its application with the OCC for a branch at 1570 River Road in Boerne, Texas.

Ralls, Texas-based Vista Bank, a unit of Vista Bancshares Inc., opened a branch at 3720 Jefferson St., in Austin, Texas, according to the Texas Department of Banking's website.

The Texas Department of Banking approved the application filed by Lubbock, Texas-based Centennial Bank for a branch at 1322 River Terrace in New Braunfels, Texas.

Commerce BancShares Inc. is the bank's parent company.

West

Goleta, Calif.-based Community West Bank NA, a subsidiary of Community West Bancshares, will open a loan production office at 725 Creston Road in Paso Robles, Calif., in June, according to a press release.

The bank will apply for a full service branch in Paso Robles in 2018, Chief Banking Officer Bill Filippin said in the release.

Salinas, Calif.-based 1st Capital Bank moved its corporate headquarters and opened a branch in the Taylor Building in Salinas, at 150 Main St., according to a press release.
