NextEra Energy aims to cut CO2 emissions over 65% by 2021

NextEra Energy Inc. on Sept. 6 announced plans to reduce its carbon dioxide emissions rate by more than 65% by 2021.

In a statement, the company said it has reduced its CO2 emissions rate by 52% since 2001 and will continue the commitment with a new reduction target.

NextEra Energy also published its annual sustainability report, which provides updates on the company's stand in the renewable energy and battery storage, investments in infrastructure, reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, commitment to providing a safe and challenging workplace, and focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
