CLP Holdings H1 profit falls YOY

CLP Holdings Ltd said its first-half normalized net income amounted to HK$1.76 per share, a decline from HK$1.81 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was HK$4.45 billion, a decline from HK$4.58 billion in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 12.1% year over year to HK$43.34 billion from HK$38.67 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 14.8% on an annual basis to HK$35.19 billion from HK$30.66 billion.

Reported net income decreased from the prior-year period to HK$5.91 billion, or HK$2.34 per share, from HK$6.13 billion, or HK$2.42 per share.
