* Wells Fargo is the latest bank to ban its customers from using their credit cards to buy cryptocurrencies, a spokeswoman for the bank said in an emailed statement to Bloomberg News.
* Citigroup's investment bank is considering to cut up to half of its 20,000 technology and operations staff over the next five years, the Financial Times reports.
* Eduardo Cepeda, head of JPMorgan's Mexico operations, has been served with an arrest warrant for alleged fraud in a dispute related to a 2007 loan to a Mexican real estate developer, according to Reuters. However, the bank said the accusations are meritless and that it had full confidence in Cepeda.
* Seacoast Banking Corp. of Florida is acquiring First Green Bancorp in a deal valued at approximately $132.6 million.
* In Tennessee, CapStar Financial is buying Athens Bancshares in an all-stock deal valued at approximately $113.5 million.
* Randall & Quilter Investment has completed the acquisitions of a California self insurer as well as the legacy liabilities of a U.S. corporate airline, the names of which were undisclosed.
* EZCORP has acquired an additional 23 pawn stores in Mexico. It now owns and operates 921 pawn stores, 45% of which are located in Latin America.
* BB&T Insurance Services changed its name to McGriff Insurance Services, effective June 25.
* After receiving approval from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S., the pending deal between Genworth Financial and China Oceanwide Holdings will now have to face Delaware Insurance Commissioner Trinidad Navarro. CFRA equity analyst Cathy Seifert said that Navarro is likely to scrutinize the strength of Genworth's reserves and its annuity book of business before signing off on the deal.
* The Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs will hold an executive session at 10 a.m. ET to consider the nominations of Richard Clarida as vice chairman of the Federal Reserve Board and Michelle Bowman as a member of the board.
* And the Federal Open Market Committee will begin its two-day policy meeting today.
