IKEA's shopping center arm to invest £170M in London mall

Ingka Centres Europe A/S, the shopping center arm of Swedish furniture retailer IKEA AB, is acquiring the 27,000-square-meter Kings Mall in London's Hammersmith district, Reuters reported.

The company is investing £170 million in the purchase and upgrade of the mall, which was sold by Schroder UK Real Estate Fund. Ingka also plans to open a new-format IKEA store at the property.

The transaction marks Ingka's entry into the U.K. market, according to the report.
