Report: Paulson & Co portfolio manager, managing directors leaving firm

Paulson & Co. Inc. portfolio manager Sheru Chowdhry is expected to be the latest in a string of departures, Reuters reported, citing two sources.

Chowdhry is a partner who co-manages the Paulson Credit Opportunities fund with Ty Wallach, the news outlet said.

Managing directors T. Michael Johnson, Natalie Oelkers and Claudio Macchetto have also left or are on their way out, Reuters said. Macchetto has been head of platform distribution, and Johnson has been head of institutional sales. Oelkers worked in marketing and investor relations before joining Owl Rock in June, the news outlet said.

The company's assets under management fell to about $10 billion recently from its peak of $36 billion in 2011, the news outlet said. Only about a quarter of the remaining assets under management come from outside investors. The rest are owned by founder John Paulson, Reuters said, citing "a person familiar with the company."
