Can Do Co. fiscal Q4 profit falls YOY

Can Do Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended Nov. 30, 2015, came to ¥11.36 per share, a decrease of 16.7% from ¥13.63 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥184.4 million, a decline of 16.7% from ¥221.3 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 1.1% from 1.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 5.1% on an annual basis to ¥16.53 billion from ¥15.73 billion, and total operating expenses rose 5.3% on an annual basis to ¥16.28 billion from ¥15.46 billion.

Reported net income decreased 8.3% on an annual basis to ¥108.0 million, or ¥6.66 per share, from ¥117.8 million, or ¥7.26 per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥56.88 per share, a decline of 21.8% from ¥72.71 per share in the prior year.

Normalized net income was ¥923.1 million, a decrease of 22.2% from ¥1.19 billion in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue increased year over year to ¥65.24 billion from ¥63.48 billion, and total operating expenses increased year over year to ¥63.92 billion from ¥61.78 billion.

The company said reported net income decreased 22.6% on an annual basis to ¥560.0 million, or ¥34.51 per share, in the full year, from ¥723.3 million, or ¥44.31 per share.

As of Feb. 26, US$1 was equivalent to ¥113.94.
