JB Hi-Fi Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second half ended June 30 came to 51 Australian cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 52 cents per share.
EPS increased 18.8% year over year from 43 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was A$50.9 million, a gain of 18.9% from A$42.8 million in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 8.9% on an annual basis to A$1.84 billion from A$1.69 billion, and total operating expenses grew 8.6% from the prior-year period to A$1.75 billion from A$1.62 billion.
Reported net income increased 18.8% year over year to A$57.0 million, or 57 cents per share, from A$48.0 million, or 48 cents per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled A$1.36 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of A$1.47.
EPS rose 11.4% from A$1.22 in the prior year.
Normalized net income was A$136.1 million, a rise of 11.4% from A$122.2 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue grew 8.3% from the prior-year period to A$3.95 billion from A$3.65 billion, and total operating expenses grew 8.2% year over year to A$3.73 billion from A$3.45 billion.
The company said reported net income increased 11.5% on an annual basis to A$152.2 million, or A$1.52 per share, in the full year, from A$136.5 million, or A$1.36 per share.
