Hong Kong and China Gas profit holds relatively steady YOY in H1

Hong Kong & China Gas Co. Ltd said its normalized net income for the first half came to 22 Hong Kong cents per share, compared with 22 cents per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was HK$3.03 billion, compared with HK$3.02 billion in the prior-year period.

Total revenue climbed 9.0% on an annual basis to HK$15.43 billion from HK$14.16 billion, and total operating expenses rose 11.6% from the prior-year period to HK$11.38 billion from HK$10.19 billion.

Reported net income grew on an annual basis to HK$4.47 billion, or 32 cents per share, from HK$4.33 billion, or 31 cents per share.
