American Express names new CEO for Mexico operations

American Express Co. named Santiago Fernández Vidal CEO for its Mexican operations, El Economista reported.

Fernández Vidal will also continue to serve as director general of the personal cards and consumption business, a position he has held for the past six years.

The executive has been with the company for 18 years, holding several leadership roles in marketing, products, card purchasing and general management.

Fernández Vidal will replace José María Zas, who will take charge of the Latin American region and continue to head the company's international insurance business.
