Wells Fargo & Co. has made several hires in its equities division in recent months, a person familiar with the matter said.
Despite the hires, staffing in the equities team has remained similar in size over recent months, the person said.
Brad Banken, Robert McEwan, Cormac McNaughton, David Murphy and Mark Sullivan joined the bank's equity sales and trading platform in August from Deutsche Bank AG.
Peter Eliades, now the head of the bank's WATS electronic trading services, joined in August from JPMorgan Chase & Co. Sandeep Sureka joined the prime brokerage product financing business in June from Citigroup Inc.
Wells Fargo declined to comment on the matter.
Wells Fargo recently ended its CEO search when it named Charles Scharf to the position. Scharf has pledged continuity in building the bank's franchises and said resolving regulatory issues will be the first priority.
