Unilever buys personal care business Lenor Japan

The Unilever Group said Oct. 1 that it acquired skin care business Lenor Japan, which has a presence in Japan and China.

The consumer goods giant did not disclose the financial details of the transaction, but said Lenor Japan will complement its beauty and personal care portfolio.

"This acquisition ... offers an exciting opportunity to fill the white spaces of Japanese beauty [and] premium face and derma care in Japan and China," the company said.

The move comes about a month after Unilever bought Bolivian personal- and home-care products manufacturer Astrix SA.
