Patent Trial and Appeal Board invalidates 5th Nasdaq patent

The Patent Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent and Trademark Office invalidated a fifth Nasdaq Inc. patent asserted against the MIAX Options, MIAX Pearl and MIAX Emerald exchanges over alleged infringement of Nasdaq's patents.

The MIAX exchanges' parent company, Miami International Holdings Inc., had asked the board to review the patents.

The board has yet to rule on the remaining patent out of the six asserted by Nasdaq.
