BHP appoints 2 new nonexecutive directors

BHP Group appointed Ian Cockerill and Susan Kilsby as independent nonexecutive directors, effective April 1.

Cockerill was nonexecutive director of Endeavour Mining Corp. and CEO of Gold Fields Ltd. and is now the chairman of Polymetal International PLC, according to a March 19 release.

Kilsby was the chairman of Shire PLC.

BHP Chairman Ken MacKenzie said the appointments were an outcome of structured board succession planning.

The board will comprise 10 nonexecutive directors and one executive director after these changes are effective.
