Highlands declares 210 million tonne maiden resource at Star Mountains project

Highlands Pacific Ltd. said Feb. 20 that it estimated a maiden resource for the Olgal deposit at its Star Mountains copper-gold project in Papua New Guinea of 210 million tonnes at 0.4% copper and 0.4 g/t of gold, for 840,000 tonnes of contained copper and 2.9 million ounces of contained gold, using a 0.3% copper cut-off grade.

The company noted that the Olgal resource area covers only a small part of the project's total tenement package of 1,049 square kilometers, and there is significant potential for additional discovery at other prospects within the tenement area.

In February, Anglo American Plc withdrew from the Star Mountains joint venture and relinquished its vested 15% interest in the project.
