US gaming short interest climbs in 1st half of November

U.S. gaming operators saw average short interest rise 22 basis points between Oct. 31 and Nov. 15, reaching 5.69% of outstanding shares.

Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. saw the largest increase in short interest relative to shares outstanding among SNL-covered gaming operators. The percentage of the company's shares held short relative to shares outstanding increased 181 basis points to 7.52% as of Nov. 15.

Red Rock Resorts Inc. had the steepest decrease in short interest relative to shares outstanding among SNL-covered gaming operators. The company saw short interest drop 74 basis points to 8.56% of shares outstanding at the end of the period.

Eldorado Resorts Inc. topped the list of most-shorted gaming operators during the period. The company saw short interest rise 48 basis points to 14.94% of shares outstanding.
