Dong-A Hwasung Q3 profit falls YOY

Dong-A Hwasung Co. Ltd. said its third-quarter normalized net income came to 6.19 South Korean won per share, a decline of 94.8% from 118.87 won per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 96.5 million won, a decrease of 94.9% from 1.88 billion won in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 0.2% from 3.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 11.9% year over year to 53.51 billion won from 47.84 billion won, and total operating expenses rose 15.1% from the prior-year period to 49.12 billion won from 42.67 billion won.

Reported net income totaled a loss of 1.01 billion won, or a loss of 64.76 won per share, compared to income of 2.15 billion won, or 136.00 won per share, in the prior-year period.

As of Nov. 16, US$1 was equivalent to 1,172.80 South Korean won.
