Liberty Health to buy Aphria's US cannabis interests in $20M deal

Liberty Health Sciences Inc. is acquiring an Aphria Inc. unit, as well as the company's minority stakes in Copperstate Farms LLC and Copperstate Farms Investors LLC.

Liberty Health will pay $20 million to acquire Aphria (Arizona) Inc. and the interests in the other two companies.

Aphria previously said it plans to explore strategic options for its U.S. cannabis-related interests.

The transaction is backed by the board of both parties. It is expected to close during the second quarter.

Haywood Securities Inc. is acting as the independent financial adviser to Aphria. Clarus Securities Inc. is acting as the independent financial adviser of Liberty Health.
