Lux Industries fiscal Q3 profit climbs 33.7% YOY

Lux Industries Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, was 3.16 Indian rupees per share, an increase of 33.6% from 2.37 rupees per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 79.9 million rupees, an increase of 33.7% from 59.8 million rupees in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 3.9% from 3.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 11.8% on an annual basis to 2.05 billion rupees from 1.84 billion rupees, and total operating expenses climbed 11.1% year over year to 1.87 billion rupees from 1.68 billion rupees.

Reported net income rose 41.3% year over year to 85.5 million rupees, or 3.38 rupees per share, from 60.5 million rupees, or 2.40 rupees per share.

As of Feb. 11, US$1 was equivalent to 62.51 Indian rupees.
