Charoen Pokphand Enterprise (Taiwan) Q1 profit climbs 34.6% YOY

Charoen Pokphand Enterprise (Taiwan) Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the first quarter came to 71 Taiwan cents per share, a gain of 34.5% from 53 cents per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was NT$190.8 million, an increase of 34.6% from NT$141.8 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 4.5% from 3.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 6.2% on an annual basis to NT$4.26 billion from NT$4.01 billion, and total operating expenses rose on an annual basis to NT$3.94 billion from NT$3.78 billion.

Reported net income rose 46.2% year over year to NT$255.1 million, or 95 cents per share, from NT$174.4 million, or 65 cents per share.
