Raiffeisenbank Schwandorf-Nittenau eG and Volksbank Regensburg eG announced their decision to merge in 2018 as they aim to strengthen their operations and provide better service to clients in their home state of Bavaria, Germany.
The two lenders will operate under the name Volksbank Raiffeisenbank Regensburg-Schwandorf eG after the merger is completed. The shareholders of both banks are expected to vote on the merger at their respective general annual meetings in May 2018. Upon approval, the deal will be effective retroactively from Jan. 1, 2018.
