Art Vivant fiscal Q2 profit climbs YOY

Art Vivant Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 was ¥16.30 per share, a gain from ¥15.68 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥213.1 million, a gain from ¥205.0 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 13.7% from 13.2% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue totaled ¥1.56 billion, compared with ¥1.55 billion in the prior-year period, and total operating expenses grew from the prior-year period to ¥1.28 billion from ¥1.23 billion.

Reported net income increased 10.9% year over year to ¥214.0 million, or ¥16.36 per share, from ¥193.0 million, or ¥14.76 per share.
