Report: Sony India appoints new managing director

Sony Corp.'s Indian arm appointed Sunil Nayyar as its new managing director, replacing Kenichiro Hibi, who was appointed as Sony Brazil president, The Economic Times (India) reported March 19, citing a company statement.

Nayyar is the first Indian to be appointed to this post in Sony India. He was head of sales at Sony India from April 2006 to April 2015 and served as head of retail experience at Sony North America until March, according to the report.

Both appointments will take effect April 1, the report said.
