The Wednesday Express: Google to ban crypto ads; Coinbase, Barclays in tie-up

* The U.S. House of Representatives may splice more aggressive provisions into the Senate's bipartisan Dodd-Frank revision bill and force a formal conference to reconcile the two chambers' differences.

* The Subcommittee on Capital Markets, Securities and Investment will hold a hearing today titled "Examining the Cryptocurrencies and ICO Markets."

* Beginning in June, advertisements for cryptocurrencies and other "speculative" financial products will be banned on Google and YouTube, The Wall Street Journal reports.

* Coinbase partnered with London-based lender Barclays on a deal that will simplify the process of deposits and withdrawals for the cryptocurrency exchange's U.K. customers, Business Insider reports. The deal came after San Francisco-based Coinbase was granted an e-money license by the U.K.'s Financial Conduct Authority.

* JPMorgan Chase has taken a minority stake in Mosaic Smart Data, a London-based financial technology startup that enables banks to run predictive analytics and artificial intelligence on trade data they hold, Reuters reports.

* Private equity firm Blackstone Group's Strategic Capital Holdings Fund acquired a passive, minority equity stake in Rockpoint Group, a global real estate investment management firm.

* Sovereign wealth fund China Investment sold its stake in Blackstone, the Financial Times reports.

* The U.S. Federal Trade Commission granted an early termination of the waiting period for insurer Kemper's $1.32 billion bid to acquire Infinity Property & Casualty.

* Healthcare company Centene made an initial investment in RxAdvance, a full-service pharmacy benefit manager.

* PNC Financial Services Group disclosed a CEO pay ratio of 201 to 1. Chairman, President and CEO William Demchak was paid $13.9 million in total compensation in 2017, while the median employee was paid $69,190.
