SSE transmission unit issues £350M green bond

Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission PLC issued £350 million of 2.25% green bonds due September 2035.

The SSE PLC subsidiary said Sept. 20 that it is "the only U.K. corporate to offer up multiple benchmark sized tranches in the sterling and euro markets. The all-in funding cost is 2.32%."

The issuance is SSE's third green bond in three years.

"This funding is consistent with our commitment to maintain a strong balance sheet and strong market rating, and has been secured with a longer tenor at very attractive pricing," SSE Finance Director Gregor Alexander said.
