CNN contributor apologizes for Donald Trump photo shoot

Kathy Griffin, a frequent on-air contributor for Time Warner Inc.'s CNN (US), apologized in a May 30 tweet for a photo shoot that depicted her holding a decapitated head of President Donald Trump.

In a statement obtained by TheWrap.com, a representative for CNN said the photos were "disgusting and offensive" and the network is evaluating plans for New Year's Eve coverage, which Griffin has co-hosted for the last decade.

CNN anchor Anderson Cooper also said in a tweet that he was "appalled" by the photo shoot.
