Nomura secures regulatory license for post-Brexit base in Frankfurt

Nomura Holdings Inc. obtained a securities trading license from German regulator Bafin for its post-Brexit EU base in Frankfurt.

The Japanese brokerage firm said June 1 that the new unit will be called Nomura Financial Products Europe GmbH.

In June 2017, sources told Bloomberg News that Nomura plans to move fewer than 100 employees from London. It had reportedly considered Munich, Luxembourg and Paris for its post-Brexit destination.
