Howard Hughes JV secures lease with law firm at Chicago tower project

Developers Howard Hughes Corp. and Riverside Investment & Development leased 100,000 square feet at their 110 N. Wacker Drive office development in Chicago's West Loop district to law firm Perkins Coie LLP, Crain's Chicago Business reported, citing a statement from the three companies.

The Seattle-based firm will relocate its Chicago office from the Citadel Center at 131 S. Dearborn St., where it occupies 116,000 square feet, in late 2021 and take up floors 34 through 37 at the 55-story new building, which is now 60% leased.

Previous leases signed at the 1.5 million-square-foot new tower include anchor tenant Bank of America Corp.'s deal for 530,000 square feet and law firm Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP's 86,000-square-foot lease. The developers are also close to signing a deal with law firm Jones Day, the May 20 report added, citing sources familiar with the firm.
