Euronext's August average daily transaction value virtually unchanged YOY

The average daily transaction value on Euronext NV's cash-order book amounted to about €6.19 billion in August, down 0.1% compared to a year earlier and down 15.4% from July.

Activity on exchange-traded funds reached an average daily transaction value of €176 million in August, down 9.9% from a year ago and down 17.7% from the previous month. The pan-European exchange recorded 1,111 ETF listings at the end of August, compared to 1,048 at the end of 2017.

The average daily volume on equity index derivatives stood at 189,521 contracts, down 13.1% from August 2017. The ADV on individual equity derivatives reached 246,831 contracts, up 7.8% on a yearly basis, while the ADV on commodities derivatives rose 41.2% year over year to 80,066 contracts.

The overall ADV on derivatives reached 580,149 contracts at August-end, up 4.7% from a year ago. The average daily volume on the foreign exchange market of FastMatch, which has been operating as a Euronext company since August 2017, stood at $19.46 billion in August, up 19.7% from a year ago and down 2.8% from July.
