Tata Steel unit granted 50-year mining lease for Indian chromite mining block

Tata Steel Ltd. unit T S Alloys Ltd. secured a 50-year mining lease for the Saruabil chromite mining block held by Misrilall Mines Pvt. Ltd. in India's Odisha state.

The lease was granted after the company emerged as the winning bidder in an e-auction process conducted by the state government in 2019, according to a Jan. 7 news release.
