SpartanNash Co. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Oct. 10 came to 50 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 49 cents per share.
EPS increased 5.1% year over year from 48 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $18.5 million, an increase from $17.7 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 1.0% from 1.0% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue declined year over year to $1.78 billion from $1.81 billion, and total operating expenses decreased on an annual basis to $1.74 billion from $1.78 billion.
Reported net income fell 11.5% year over year to $14.8 million, or 40 cents per share, from $16.7 million, or 45 cents per share.
