Nebraska Public Power District energizes 40-mile transmission line

Nebraska Public Power District's 40-mile Muddy Creek-to-Ord transmission line entered service March 22.

The new 115-kV line will help address voltage and loading issues and meet the North American Electric Reliability Corp.'s reliability standards, according to an April 2 news release.

"Normally, for a project this size, we hire out the work because we simply don't have the time to dedicate to it," Nebraska Public Power Vice President and COO Tom Kent said in an April 2 release. "Our own crews constructed the Muddy Creek to Ord transmission line which highlights the synergies between our transmission and distribution crews."
