FDIC OKs First Choice-Pacific Commerce merger

First Choice Bancorp said the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. approved the Cerritos, Calif.-based company's planned acquisition of Los Angeles-based Pacific Commerce Bancorp.

With the FDIC approving the deal, the Federal Reserve Board waived the requirement for a separate application. The California Department of Business Oversight's approval of the deal is still pending.
