Lux Industries fiscal Q4 profit climbs YOY

Lux Industries Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 amounted to 7.97 Indian rupees per share, an increase from 2.76 rupees per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 201.2 million rupees, an increase from 69.8 million rupees in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 6.7% from 2.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 26.3% year over year to 3.01 billion rupees from 2.39 billion rupees, and total operating expenses rose 21.2% year over year to 2.64 billion rupees from 2.18 billion rupees.

Reported net income rose on an annual basis to 212.9 million rupees, or 8.43 rupees per share, from 80.9 million rupees, or 3.20 rupees per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 16.83 rupees per share, a gain of 46.4% from 11.50 rupees per share in the prior year.

Normalized net income was 425.1 million rupees, an increase of 46.4% from 290.3 million rupees in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue rose year over year to 9.09 billion rupees from 8.71 billion rupees, and total operating expenses rose on an annual basis to 8.22 billion rupees from 8.00 billion rupees.

The company said reported net income grew 44.1% on an annual basis to 452.3 million rupees, or 17.91 rupees per share, in the full year, from 313.8 million rupees, or 12.42 rupees per share.

As of May 27, US$1 was equivalent to 63.93 Indian rupees.
