Owens & Minor names interim CFO, chief accounting officer

Owens & Minor Inc. appointed Robert Snead to the additional role of interim CFO, effective June 1.

Snead is currently the group vice president of finance, global solutions. He succeeds Richard Meier, the company's executive vice president and CFO, who is leaving Owens & Minor to pursue other opportunities.

Owens & Minor is engaging a national firm to conduct a search for a permanent CFO.

In addition, Michael Lowry, the company's senior vice president and corporate controller, was appointed chief accounting officer.

Lowry, who joined Owens & Minor in 1988, was named corporate controller of the company in 2013.

Mechanicsville, Va.-based Owens & Minor and its units operate as a healthcare services company in the U.S., the U.K., Ireland, France, Germany and other European countries.
