A fire broke out at Emaar Properties PJSC's The Address Residences Fountain Views residential complex in Dubai, which is under construction, the Associated Press reported.
This is the second time a fire has broken out at one of its developments in as many years.
The blaze, which took place April 2 at about 5:30 a.m. local time, did not cause any injuries, according to the authorities, the report noted. However, Dubai Civil Defense rescued three workers from the site and sent them to a hospital for further examination. Emaar is developing the high-rise tower complex, which is next to Dubai's largest mall and a block away from the 63-story The Address Downtown Dubai tower.
Upon completion, the 60-story Fountain Views complex will offer 788 apartments and a hotel and will be linked to the Dubai Mall.
Emaar is "awaiting the final report" from the investigators on the fire, AP noted, citing a statement from the developer.
The company recently said it was going to recover 1.22 billion United Arab Emirates dirhams from an insurance claim relating to another fire that happened at its The Address Downtown Dubai hotel on Dec. 31, 2015.
As of March 31, US$1 was equivalent to 3.67 United Arab Emirates dirhams.
