Restoration gets US FDA approval to expand use of hair restoration technology

Restoration Robotics Inc. said the U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted 510(k) clearance to expand the use of its Artas technology to include hair implantation.

Artas is a robotic hair transplantation system used to treat pattern baldness.

The San Jose, Calif.-based medical device maker plans to complete the necessary design and engineering work to launch the implantation functionality by the end of 2018.
