Henkel AG & Co. KGaA said Sept. 24 that it issued two bonds worth €850 million on the capital market.
One bond was worth €450 million with a three-year maturity, and the other was worth €400 million with a maturity of seven years. Both bonds were issued in British pounds and have a negative yield in euros. They are also fully hedged against currency risk.
Henkel is using proceeds from the bonds to repay commercial paper liabilities.
The German manufacturer said the placement "was significantly oversubscribed and attracted wide interest by international investors."
BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, NatWest Markets and Société Générale were joint active bookrunners.
