Icon co-founder retires after 28 years with clinical research company

Icon PLC, a clinical research organization, has confirmed that co-founder Ronan Lambe is stepping down as nonexecutive director after 28 years with the Dublin-based company.

The company officially announced Lambe's retirement at their annual general meeting July 24, following a statement in June that Lambe would not be seeking re-election.

Lambe co-founded Icon in 1990 with John Climax, according to ICON's website. Upon the company's creation, Lambe served as chairman and director until 2002.

Icon has 93 locations worldwide and provides clinical development services to pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies.

Climax will remain on the board as a nonexecutive director.
