U.S. hotels recorded positive performance for the week ended Aug. 24, according to STR data.
Year over year, revenue per available room rose 1.2% to $90.08, and average daily rate ticked up 0.5% to finish the week at $128.57. Occupancy rose 0.8%, to 70.1%.
Orlando, Fla., logged the steepest RevPAR uptick of the top 25 U.S. markets at 18.0% to $72.85 and the largest increase in ADR, rising 10.3% to $107.43.
Houston posted the largest boost in occupancy, with the metric rising 14.8%, to 64.2%.
Nashville, Tenn., saw RevPAR fall 16.0% to $100.11, the largest decrease. The market also recorded the biggest ADR decrease, declining 7.3% to $139.43, and the steepest decline in occupancy, dropping 9.4%, to 71.8%.
