S&W Seed fiscal Q3 loss narrows YOY

S&W Seed Co. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended March 31 came to a loss of $55,690, compared with a loss of $434,340 in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

The normalized profit margin rose to negative 0.4% from negative 5.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose on an annual basis to $30.5 million from $8.1 million, and total operating expenses rose year over year to $26.8 million from $8.7 million.

Reported net income came to a loss of $526,640, or a loss of 4 cents per share, compared to a loss of $346,770, or a loss of 3 cents per share, in the prior-year period.
