Lundin finds oil in Norwegian North Sea's Goddo prospect

Lundin Petroleum AB (publ) said subsidiary Lundin Norway AS made an oil discovery at the Goddo prospect in the Norwegian North Sea, according to an Aug. 19 news release from the Swedish company. The discovery was made in PL815.

Initial tests show that exploration well 16/5-8s has gross resources of between 1 million and 10 million barrels of oil equivalent.

Lundin said the appraisal and commercialization strategy for the Utsira High basement play will be based on the production performance of the Rolvsnes extended well test, with production slated in mid-2021, including the information collected from Goddo and surrounding well data.

Lundin serves as operator of PL815 with a 60% stake. Concedo ASA and Petoro AS each hold a 20% interest.
