Amtex Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended March 31 amounted to a loss of 55 Pakistani paisa per share, compared with a loss of 76 paisa per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of 142.3 million rupees, compared with a loss of 196.0 million rupees in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin increased to negative 20.4% from negative 27.6% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue fell on an annual basis to 698.7 million rupees from 710.4 million rupees, and total operating expenses declined 10.2% on an annual basis to 880.2 million rupees from 980.1 million rupees.
Reported net income came to a loss of 234.6 million rupees, or a loss of 90 paisa per share, compared to a loss of 306.2 million rupees, or a loss of 1.18 rupees per share, in the prior-year period.
As of April 30, US$1 was equivalent to 101.69 Pakistani rupees.
